STEP ONE: SELECT A PRODUCT

There are two store types that are typically used for dropshipping. A lot of people use a general type store, which means they will import a lot of products to their website from AliExpress in one place and hope for the best. This is not the way to go and be successful in 2023 and in upcoming years, the way to go is a one-product/branded dropshipping store. 


Why waste your time and energy trying to sell a bunch of random products from AliExpress, when you could focus all of your efforts on selling one amazing product?


This means doing your research, analyzing trends, and finding a product that has a high demand and low competition. Don't just settle for any old product, choose something that you're passionate about and that you truly believe in.


 Not only is this more trust-worthy, as the store will not look like a website from 2010 with a lot of random products, but there will be much less work from your end to choose the product, instead of searching for 100 products for weeks, you could probably find very good product today and start right away your new journey!

1) HOW TO CHOOSE THE PRODUCT?

Golden rules of choosing a product for your dropshipping store.

Rule number one: your product has to solve a problem. This means that it needs to be something that people actually need and want, not just some random knick-knack that nobody cares about. If your product can solve a problem, it's much more likely to be successful.

Rule number two: your product can't be something that can be easily bought at a local supermarket. This means that you need to find something that's unique and not readily available in stores. Nobody's going to buy your product if they can just run down to their local Walmart and pick it up for cheaper.

And let's just add a little note here, shall we? Please, for the love of all that is good in this world, do not sell weapons or products made from easily breakable materials. Not only is it dangerous, but it's just not ethical. Stick to products that are safe and useful, and you'll be much better off.

2) EXCEPTIONS OF PRODUCTS

While it's generally a good idea to follow the rules of choosing a product that solves a problem and can't be easily bought at a local supermarket, there are always exceptions to the rule.


Take that decorative plant holder in the picture, for example. While it may not solve a major problem, it's still a unique and attractive product that people might want to buy. And just because it can be bought at a supermarket doesn't mean that people won't be willing to pay a premium price for a higher quality version of the same product.


So, while there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to choosing a product for your dropshipping store, it's still a good idea to follow the general guidelines. And at the end of the day, the best indicator of whether or not you've chosen a good product is whether or not you would buy it yourself. So, trust your instincts, do your research, and choose a product that you would be proud to sell.

3) IMPORTANT TIPS BEFORE CHOOSING PRODUCT

When it comes to dropshipping, having competition is actually a good thing. It's a clear indicator that people are buying the products and that there's a market for what you're selling. And if your competition is running ads for their website, even better! That means they're investing money in marketing, which means there's money to be made.

So, how do you find your competition? Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Just hop on over to Facebook and search for the product you've chosen. If there are other websites running ads for that product, you'll see pictures of the product and the ad itself. This will give you a good idea of who your competition is and how they're marketing their products.

But hold your horses, my friend! Before you dive headfirst into the world of dropshipping competition, there's one important thing to consider: saturation. Some products are just so dang popular that everyone and their grandma is trying to sell them. Phone cases, hoodies, and watches, for example, are all products that are incredibly saturated in the dropshipping world. You'd be up against some serious competition if you tried to sell those products, so it's best to steer clear and find something that's less saturated.

Choosing a product is a very important thing as you will develop everything around the product itself, but you will be able to easily change products if the one you chose will not work, you would just delete the one from the store and import another one.

STEP TWO: REGISTER DOMAIN NAME

A lot of dropshipping "gurus" on YouTube will almost every time show you to use Shopify. Well, what if I tell you there is a better way, and almost 10x cheaper. 2) CHOOSE YOUR DOMAIN NAME

If you buy hosting for two or more years, you'll get your domain name for free! Now that's what I call a sweet deal.

When it comes to choosing your domain name, there are a few things to keep in mind. First and foremost, we recommend using .com. It's the most popular and widely recognized domain extension, so it's the safest bet for your dropshipping business.

Another thing to consider is the length of your domain name.

Keep it short and sweet if you can. Nobody wants to type out a ridiculously long domain name, especially if they're doing it on their phone. And if you're struggling to come up with a domain name, why not create a brand name for your product that doesn't have a registered domain name yet? Get creative and have fun with it.

3) CHOOSE ADDITIONAL FEATURES

When it comes to hosting features for your dropshipping website, there are a few things to consider. First and foremost, we highly recommend getting a backup plan. You never know when something might go wrong with your website, and having a backup plan will ensure that your website is safe and secure at all times.

Now, if you're on a tight budget, you can always download a plugin that does backups for free. But be warned, my friend, plugins can slow down your website. And let's be real, nobody wants a slow website. So, while a free backup plugin may save you some money, it might not be the best choice for the long-term success of your dropshipping business.

4) COMPLETE REGISTRATION AND CONFIRM YOUR ACCOUNT

Once you've chosen your domain name and hosting provider, it's time to fill out your account information. Make sure you enter all of your information correctly and remember your password (and write it down somewhere safe, just in case!).

Once you've completed the account setup process, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided. This email is super important because it contains the verification link you need to activate your domain name. Make sure you check your designated email address (and even your spam folder, just in case) for the confirmation email.

It's crucial that you verify your email address in order for your domain name to be activated. So, don't skip this step, my friend! Once you've clicked the verification link in the email, you're ready to start building your dropshipping website and taking over the world (or at least the dropshipping world). 🫣

STEP THREE: INSTALL WORDPRESS

WordPress is a full-featured content management system that also happens to be the most popular website creation tool on the planet.

You don't need to know anything about HTML, CSS, or any of the other acronyms that professional web developers love to throw around. It is simple to create a professional-looking website with WordPress without writing a single line of code. Using the popular WooCommerce plugin, you can even use WordPress to create an online store and sell anything you offer. WordPress is simple enough for anyone to use. It's also comprehensive enough that many web professionals use WordPress as the foundation for custom websites.

WordPress is used to power some of the world's most popular websites. WordPress is completely free to use and modify. It may appear complicated at first glance, but trust us when we say it isn't. You can learn where everything is by looking at your WordPress menu, or by watching a YouTube video that will show you around.

Alrighty, now we're getting into some technical stuff. When it comes to choosing your installation URL for your dropshipping website, we recommend setting it as "https://www." Why, you ask? Well, it's the most secure option available, which is always a good thing when it comes to website security.

But that's not all! Choosing "https://www." as your installation URL will also come in handy later on when you set up a CDN (Content Delivery Network) for a faster website. A CDN works by delivering your website's content from a network of servers around the world, which speeds up loading times and improves user experience.

When it comes to your site settings, leave them as they are for now. You can always change them later on in WordPress if you need to.

7) ENTER YOUR WORDPRESS LOGIN DETAILS

Now it's time to input your admin username and password for your dropshipping website. Make sure you choose a strong and secure password because website security is no joke.

The admin email for your website should be generated automatically, and it will be the first email address associated with your website. However, if you want to change it, you can do so. Just remember, these details will be needed in order to log in to WordPress, so keep them handy.

We don't recommend choosing a theme during the installation process.

Why, you ask? Well, once the installation is complete, you'll have access to the entire theme library at WordPress, and all of these themes will be compatible with the page builder we will use - Brizy. So, save yourself some time and hassle, and click the "Install Now" button without choosing a theme.


You can always choose a theme later on in your website menu. This process can take up to 24 hours, but it usually only takes a few minutes. So, take a short break and drink some water, my friend. It's important to stay hydrated (and focused) during the website setup process.

8) LOG IN TO YOUR WORDPRESS ADMIN DASHBOARD

Woohoo, the installation process is complete! Now it's time to access your WordPress backend panel and start building your dropshipping website.

You can access your WordPress backend panel by going to the URL (https://www.yourwebsitename.com/wp-admin). And hey, it's not a bad idea to save this page as a favorite for easy access in the future.

Once you're logged in, you'll have complete control over your website's themes, pages, posts, plugins, and so much more. It's like having your own little corner of the internet to play with!

Okay, now it's time to talk about plugins. Before downloading the LiteSpeed caching plugin, we recommend deactivating and deleting any pre-downloaded plugins on your website. These plugins can cause problems, and let's be real, you don't even know if you want to use them. If you change your mind later, you can always install them back.

Now that you've cleared out any unnecessary plugins, it's time to log in to your WordPress account and download your first plugin. This plugin will be your main speed optimization plugin, which is crucial for a fast and responsive dropshipping website.

There are many types of plugins available for WordPress, including image optimization plugins, search engine optimization plugins, backup plugins, page builder plugins, security plugins, and so many more. Don't worry, we'll explain all of the plugins you'll need later on.

To access your WordPress panel, simply go to the URL (https://www."yourwebsitename".com/wp-admin). And remember, choosing the right plugins for your dropshipping website can make all the difference in terms of website performance and user experience.

1) GO TO PLUGINS AND CLICK "ADD NEW"

If you just logged in for the first time to WordPress, there will be many sections on the left side, as you see in the picture. Search for the "Plugins" section and click on that. Then click on "add new" to add a new plugin, you will now add your first plugin for speed optimization of your dropshipping store.

2) SEARCH FOR "LITESPEED CACHE" AND INSTALL THE FIRST ONE

Install the LiteSpeed cache plugin by click on "Install now" and then click again on the same icon that will say "Activate".

3) SETTINGS OF THE PLUGIN

The new section will appear after installing LiteSpeed Cache plugin on the left of your WordPress dashboard. Click on that to set up the plugin.

4) CLICK ON "CACHE"

To activate the LiteSpeed technology, you need to go to the “Cache” section and then click "[6] Object".

5) CHANGE THE FOLLOWING SETTINGS

Set the “Object Cache” to ON. This setting will be turned off by default. Then switch the “Method” from “Memcached” to “Redis”. “Memcached is set by default. Do not change the localhost. The final change will be the “Port”. The default port number is 11211, delete this number and type in the number “6379” as shown under the Port type bar. Now click save changes and you are DONE! LiteSpeed technology is now activated!

2) SETUP GENERAL SETTINGS

First up, set your site title as your website name, but don't be afraid to capitalize on some letters to make it stand out. Your tagline should be simple and specific, giving visitors a clear idea of what your website is all about.

When it comes to WordPress Address and Site Address, make sure to use the same URL, and use "https://www" in front of your domain. This is the most secure option, and it's essential for your CDN (Content Delivery Network) to work properly.

Speaking of CDN, it's a great tool to increase your website speed by caching your website content and distributing it over multiple data centers around the world. This means that when someone opens your website, the content is delivered to them from the geographically closest server, making your site load much faster in every part of the world.

And here's another benefit of CDN: it can help protect your website by analyzing your traffic and blocking suspicious visitors. We'll get into setting up your CDN in the next steps, so stay tuned.

STEP FIVE: INSTALL A THEME

Alrighty, it's time to start designing and editing your WordPress website. But first, you'll need to install a theme. Luckily, WordPress makes it easy to install free themes with just a few clicks.

For our dropshipping website, we'll be using the Brizy Page Builder to create a phenomenal-looking website. We use Brizy on this website ourselves, so we can vouch for its effectiveness.

But that's not all. Since we'll be using WooCommerce to create a dropshipping website from a normal website, we'll need to use a theme that's compatible with WooCommerce. Don't worry, though. WooCommerce is a free plugin, so you won't have to spend a dime.

We'll import a starter eCommerce theme, which you can design and edit yourself using the page builder we'll install later on. With Brizy and a WooCommerce-compatible theme, you'll have everything you need to create a stunning and functional dropshipping website.

1) DOWNLOAD BLOCKSY

Click on "Appearance" and select "Themes" on the side of your WordPress dashboard.

2) CLICK ON "ADD NEW"

Click on "Add New" at the top. Then type "Blocksy" in a search bar. Blocksy theme will show up, click Install and wait for a second, after that, click on the same button that will transform from "Install" to "Activate.

You may be using an official WordPress theme called "Twenty Twenty Two" that is activated automatically after you Installed WordPress, feel free to deactivate this theme since you really will not use that theme. Now you have a theme activated, and if you visit your domain, the design should change.

3) INSTALL BLOCKSY COMPANION

Click on "Install Blocksy Companion".

You can choose both, but I would personally choose "Skip".

5) IMPORT STARTER SITE

Choose "Starter Sites" at the top, and choose a start site which you want, we recommend "Modern Shop" since I like the design, but you can choose a different one. After choosing, just click "Import".

You might be asked before about "Child theme" before this, uncheck that and click continue.

We highly recommend choosing Brizy builder, because they offer a very beginner-friendly intuitive drag-and-drop builder, so you will be able to customize your website visually in real-time.

You might be asked about installing plugins before this, check "WooCommerce" and "Brizy". These plugins will be automatically installed. You don't have to install any form of "Contact Form", because the contact form is already implemented in page builders.

You might be asked about different things at different themes if you chose differently, but the content import is overall needed and you should check everything before Installing.

8) VIEW SITE

After installation is complete, you will be asked to customize and or view your site, you can click "View site" and see that your website changed, and looks amazing.

STEP SIX: DOWNLOAD BRIZY PAGE BUILDER

Brizy is a WordPress page builder plugin that allows you to create a website visually rather than through coding. Brizy, like other similar plugins, includes a visual editor with drag-and-drop functionality. Page builders allow you to create beautiful pages for your WordPress site without having to deal with CSS or HTML. Brizy page builder's editor interface is simple, intuitive, and lightweight. It's a lot of fun to make a page with Brizy.

A lot of people uses simple and boring themes, and they are just lazy to design and create something special, that's when you show up and step up the game with your dropshipping store with custom design pages.

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND BRIZY?

One of the great things about Brizy is that it's designed specifically for beginners, making the website-building process extremely easy. And since we'll be using Brizy for your dropshipping website, you don't need to be a coding expert to make a beautiful and functional website.

But that's not all. Brizy also offers WooCommerce integration, which is the plugin that will transform your normal-looking website into a completely functional online store. With this integration, you'll be able to sell your products directly from your website, making it easy for customers to make purchases.

However, it's important to note that the WooCommerce integration is only available in the PRO version of Brizy. This means you'll need to spend $49 to access this feature. But trust us. It's well worth the investment. Plus, the Brizy PRO version also offers Pop-Ups and email integration, which can take your dropshipping website to the next level.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD BRIZY?

You might have already installed a Brizy page builder, because a Blocksy theme already installed this for us, but since WooCommerce integration with page builders are huge milestone in development, we will need to spend around $49 on PRO version of page builder, no matter what page builder you are using.

You will download another plugin, that is an addition to original Brizy plugin, so keep Brizy installed.

2) FILL OUT INFORMATION


Select the “To build a website for myself” and then fill in your email address, then download the Brizy plugin in the folder.

3) GO TO PLUGINS AND CLICK "ADD NEW"

Same thing as you did before with the LiteSpeed Cache plugin.

Just now, you will upload the folder that you downloaded from the Brizy.io website.

4) CLICK "UPLOAD PLUGIN" AND UPLOAD BRIZY FOLDER


Find and select the folder you downloaded from Brizy.io and upload the plugin.


Then just click "Activate" in plugins.

HOW TO CREATE A PAGE IN BRIZY?

You have just downloaded Brizy page builder, you are able to start creating your first page on your own website! Here is a tutorial on how to do this from the official Brizy YouTube channel. This video is shared just to show you how easy it really is to create pages with Brizy, it is not part of the tutorial, as we will create pages together later in the tutorial.

STEP SEVEN: SET UP THE CONTENT DELIVERY NETWORK (CDN)

WHY DO YOU NEED CDN?

Let's talk more about CDNs (Content Delivery Networks), which we mentioned earlier as a way to increase the speed and security of your dropshipping website.

One of the benefits of using a CDN is content protection. CDNs allow you to control access to your website's content, preventing unauthorized downloading or sharing of your valuable intellectual property.

Another major benefit of using a CDN is load time reduction. By moving your website's content to CDN servers located closer to your visitors, you can greatly reduce the load time of your website. This means faster page load times, improved user experience, and higher search engine rankings.

HOW DOES THE CDN WORK?

One of the most effective ways to reduce page loading time is to use a Content Delivery Network (CDN). Content Delivery Network (CDN) serves as a middleman between a website and its visitors. Users can use this system to receive cached static content from nearby servers. The site can load faster if there is less physical distance between it and the user.

For example, an Australian visitor, who wishes to see content that originates on a US-based server that NameHero hosting company we are using to provide, will face slow loading times if the request must go for a longer distance.

To overcome this, CDNs cache your website's content at numerous geographical locations throughout the world, referred to as "points of presence" (PoPs). These PoPs will have their cache servers and will be able to deliver quality material to the user's location from the nearest server.

WHICH CDN SHOULD I USE?

I cover two CDN providers in this tutorial, so you can choose which one you want to use. But what is the difference between QUIC.cloud and Cloudflare? The primary distinction between QUIC.cloud and Cloudflare is that the former caches not only static files, but also dynamic HTML pages.


This is in direct contrast to Cloudflare, which only caches static files by default. QUIC.cloud communicates with the LiteSpeed extension on your backend to determine which pages have changed, and then purges them selectively from the cache.

QUIC.cloud offers free APO (Automatic Platform Optimization) and Cloudflare offers APO for $5.

I cover only those two CDN provides because I think they are the best. What do I recommend? I recommend Cloudflare, even when they do not offer free APO, I find that loading times are faster with Cloudflare, but you will not regret using any of those CDN providers.

OPTION ONE: CLOUDFLARE

RECOMMENDED

1) CREATE CLOUDFLARE ACCOUNT

Click the sign-up button. Provide your email and password and then hit Create Account.

2) ADD DOMAIN NAME TO CLOUDFLARE

Navigate to the Cloudflare dashboard. Select the +Add Site button to the right of the notification that says "You currently do not have any websites" and select FREE plan. Add your website and change the nameservers.

3) CHANGE THE NAMESERVERS IN NAMEHERO

When you add your domain to Cloudflare, you will be asked to change the nameservers of your domain. This process is very easy in NameHero.

Go to your NameHero account and click on "Domains". Then click on your domain name and click on "Nameservers" on the left. Then just use custom nameservers and delete the nameservers you have there, and change them to the Cloudflare nameservers you were asked to change.

4) CONNECT WITH API

Go to Settings and select Cloudflare. Click on "get your API Key from here". A window displaying your Cloudflare account will appear. Navigate to the API Tokens tab, then select View from the Global API drop-down menu.

5) CONNECT CLOUDFLARE LITESPEED CACHE

Copy the provided API key after entering your Cloudflare password. Return to the LiteSpeed Cache and click on "CDN" section. Scroll all the way down and fill in the information and paste the Global API Key. Turn on "Cloudflare API" and then save changes. Connecting successfully to Cloudflare could take up to 24h. You can go on a follow the next steps in guide.

OPTION TWO: QUIC.CLOUD

1) REQUEST DOMAIN KEY

Click "Request Domain Key" on the LiteSpeed Cache → CDN on the sidebar of your WordPress menu. This could take a minute, so please be patient. After you've generated the key, go ahead and click "Link to QUIC.cloud." This will take you to their website, where you can sign up for a free account. I will cover two suppliers to cover your needs if you want to start free, we covered Zendrop, which offers a free version, and you can fill out 50 orders a month with a free plan before needing to upgrade. If you succeed with dropshipping, you will pay a monthly fee afterward, but you will be able to pay those fees from profits from dropshipping easily. 

 

 

The only disadvantage is the higher price of the product and shipping cost from the official Zendrop catalog, but you can import products directly from AliExpress, so you will eventually pay the same amount but expect slower shipping times (same as AliDropship shipping times). 

 

Our recommendation is Zendrop. Just pay a monthly fee after you are successful.

STEP FIFTEEN: CREATE IMPORTANT PAGES

Okay! The website's core is developed and fully running, now we will finally start creating the website. You will now begin to start designing your own web pages! There are types of pages that all websites should have, and we will do them right now.

The must-have pages are: About us, Contact Us, Terms and Conditions/Privacy Policy. First, we will create something, that is on every page, and that is Header and Footer. How to create a Header and Footer will be under the section on how to create an "About Us" page.

Before we start to create your first webpage, there will already be automatically generated pages, if you want, you can start from there and edit them to your need with the template, but we will do it a different way, and create everything from the ground ourselves, it is more work, but it will pay off since a lot of dropshipping stores will look very similar, and our website very unique, so if you want, you can delete all the pages and start creating them from the scratch.

If done, click "Save Menu", and it should be automatically added to your Header and Footer if you had an option to select the "Menu" as we showed before, if you did not have an option, try to do it again and this setting should be there.

You can create two menus, one to display in header, and the second to display in footer, and then choose inside a Brizy while editing the website, that way, you can have "Products, About Us" in header, and "Contact Us, Terms and Conditions" in footer.

STEP SIXTEEN: WOOCOMMERCE SETTINGS

We will now configure the WooCommerce settings. These settings are straightforward to set with descriptions of what they do, so you can easily set this the way you want, I will just guide you to the general settings that are most common.

These settings are unique for everyone else, so I can not tell you what to do here, same apply for taxes, I can not give you any advice about that since I love not being in prison.

1) GO TO SETTINGS

Shop page should be set at "Shop". This page was automatically generated when installing WooCommerce.

Do not change placeholder image number. Weight unit and domensions unit probably does not matter, so set the one that you use in your country, so you understand better.

4) SHIPPING

Add a new shipping method. You can set shipping as you want, but a great option is to just have free shipping worldwide, this way your customers will not leave the cart page after seeing expensive shipping.

Another method I like is to charge about $2 shipping and set free shipping if they order 2 or more products, this way some customers will add another item, making you 2x more money than other customers. Everything can be set in this WooCommerce setting.

5) PAYMENT GATEWAYS

Time to add payment gateways. I will now show you how to accept any payments from any credit/debit card, ans also PayPal.

6) INSTALL PAYPAL PLUGIN

Go to the plugins in the WordPress dashboard and click "Add New". Search "Paypal", Install and activate this plugin on the picture.

7) CONNECT YOUT ACCOUNT

This message will pop up after the installation of the plugin is complete. Click "connect your account".

You will be able to accept credit/debit cards through PayPal, even when the customer does not have a PayPal account. Click "Activate PayPal".

8) ACTIVATE PAYPAL

This new window will pop up after clicking the button, follow the instructions and integrate your PayPal account with WooCommerce. After completion, you will be able to accept all types of payments from your dropshipping store!

STEP SEVENTEEN: CREATE SALES PAGE

Creating a sales/main page is very easy with Brizy page builder. We have put the sales/main page here just for one reason, and that is that you do not need both pages because the sales page could be your main page if you want to.
